The Southern Superstars Racing League was
founded in February of 2009 by a group of sim racers that weren't happy with the
rule set used by one of the larger sim racing leagues that they were members of
previously. The SSRL was formed to provide a more realistic racing
environment, one with emphasis on racing rather than socializing. The SSRL
also caters to a more diverse community of racers, offering several different
series for a wider range of driving skills. The series is broken up into
several different race nights, with most of the series also broken into multiple
segments. Each segment crowns its own champion, as well, with an overall
series championship determined at the end of each season.
The SSRL runs entirely on the Papyrus NASCAR
Racing 2003 Season platform, and has its own "cheat detection" server provided
by RaceLM. The SSRL
uses Teamspeak 2 for
it's VoIP (voice over IP) drivers meetings and in-race communications. All
NR2003 mods used in the league are available for download on our File Manager.
All tracks that we run on, aside from the game default tracks are also available
on our File Manager.
The SSRL accepts any sim racer that
demonstrates mature, responsible driving habits and good control of their race
vehicle. Casual racers are welcome in the SSRL, but they may find the race
environment a bit too strict. The SSRL rules package is strict, and not
very forgiving of those that aren't serious about their sim racing. This
is by design. We penalize drivers for causing yellow flag conditions, or
that are otherwise disruptive to green-flag racing. We utilize a
"three-strike" policy for keeping control of caution periods, that requires any
driver that causes his third caution period of a given race to park his ride for
the rest of the race
Our Rules Book is rather lengthy and detailed,
but familiarity with it is expected of all drivers that race with us.
Please look over our rules carefully, and be familiar with them before you log
into our race server to race. If you have any questions about the SSRL,
please click on the link at the upper-left corner of this box to contact the
league administrator. If you wish to race with us, start by clicking the
Driver Registration link on the main menu bar just under the logo banner of the
site. In short, you will be required to register and maintain an account
on our FORUM, and to create an account on our File Manager. Most
importantly though, you'll need to create an account with the Southern
Superstars Racing league at RaceLM, and download/install the RLMArena client.
You'll find links to ALL of these on the Driver Registration page.
It is highly recommended that you have a
customized car and/or truck file, and upload it to the File Manager here.
If you don't have one, then you can post a message on our forum and ask one of
our accomplished and able car painters if they'd mind painting one for you.
If you have a customized car and/or truck file, we ask that you make sure that
it contains no rude or otherwise offensive graphics or text on it.

The HSCS was
formed back in 2001 by the Dixie Online
Motorsports (DOM) league, and run on the
NASCAR Racing 3 platform. The HSCS
is a Huntsville Speedway weekly racing
type series, featuring a slightly
different format each season. For
2009, the HSCS will feature a twin-100
lap format, with feature races each race
night for the CTS and LMPv2 divisions.
The 2009 season will also be a more
difficult format than previous years,
with realistic damage and open setups.
The inaugural HSCS
2001 series championship was won by
Chuck Embry of Florida. Henegar,
Alabama driver Shannon Segler won the
title the following year, then followed
it up again in 2007 to be the only
repeat champion thus far in the series.
The 2003 HSCS title was won by Dewayne
Ballew of Harvest, Alabama.
Madison, Alabama driver and CARS
co-founder Kevin Neal picked up the
championship in 2004. FTSRL
co-founder Chuck Chamblee was the series
champ in 2005, while Hendersenville,
Tennessee's Josh Berry was the titlist
in 2006. Adrian Sanders of
Huntsville, Alabama was the 2008
champion. The HSCS will return under the
FTSRL banner on Tuesday night, April
8th, 2009 as a HARDCORE series and OPEN
setups. See the
HSCS SCHEDULE
for details. |
