Thank you for your consideration of the Southern Superstars Racing League!  We are always looking for responsible, hard racers to go racing with us.  In order to race with us, you'll need to complete the following procedure, in sequential order:

  1. SSRL RACER'S FORUM REGISTRATION: Register on the Forum by clicking on "Forum Registration" on the above menu bar.  COMPLETE ALL REQUESTED FIELDS, including your REAL name, location (City and State), and Racing Experience.  Failure to complete the submission of this information will delay your forum access approval.  After registration, you will receive a welcome message from the forum administrator that contains your username and password.  Please keep this e-mail in case you forget your login information.  The league administrator will also be immediately notified of your forum  registration.  If your forum registration was completed as directed, then your forum account will be activated by the league administrator and you will be granted standard access to the forum.  NOTE: Forum activation may take up to 24 hours.  When your forum account has been activated you will receive an "account activated" e-mail.  You may then log back onto the forum using your username and password, and will have standard full access to the forum.

  2. RACE-LM RACE SERVER REGISTRATION: Register on RaceLM with the Southern Superstars Racing League by clicking on "SSRL Registration" on the above menu bar.  PLEASE USE YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME AS YOUR USER NAME!  Any user name used that cannot be matched immediately with forum profile real name will result in your server registration being deleted.  Please fill out all fields on the registration form before submitting it.  All new registrations must be approved by the SSRL administrator before you can connect to the Southern Superstars race server.  NOTE: Your Race server account activation will not take place until after you have completed step # 4 below, and your requested number has been approved.  When your account has been activated, you will be advised via e-mail.  Remember your registration login and password, you'll need them when you set up your RLMArena client for the first time (step 5 below).

  3. SSRL CAR FILE MANAGER REGISTRATION: Register on the SSRL Car File Manager by clicking on "Car File Manager" on the above menu bar.  After registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail.  Read it carefully and follow directions.  Be sure to note the activation code in the e-mail that you receive, then follow directions in the e-mail to enter the activation code on your next visit to the Car File Manager activation screen.  This will complete your car file manager registration.  All Car File Manager registrations must be approved and activated by the league administrator.  CLICK HERE to open a new window to the SSRL Racer's Forum, and post a new message requesting that your Car File Manager account be activated.  NOTE: Car File Manager account activation may take up to 24 hours.  After your CFM account has been activated, the league administrator will post a reply advising you that your CFM account has been activated.

  4. SELECTING AN AVAILABLE DRIVER #: Look at the current SSRL member driver list by clicking on the "ROSTER" menu item on the MAIN MENU BAR of the website (all the way at the top of the page), and pick an available driver #.  Then go to the SSRL Forum and visit the Car Number Requests board.  Post a new message there, requesting the available car # that you wish to run in the league.  Please specify your real name, city, state and the car/truck # you wish to be assigned in the SSRL.  Your request will be reviewed by the league administrator, and unless we have justification to deny your registration then your request will be approved and a reply will be issued to your request on the forum.  At this point, your SSRL Race-LM account will be activated, and you will receive an e-mail advising you of the activation.  Wait on your car number approval reply and Race-LM activation e-mail before going to the next step.  NOTE: Driver number approval may take up to 24 hoursIf you do not request your driver number as instructed above within 30 days of registering with the race server, then your race server registration will be deleted.

  5. DOWNLOADING AND CONFIGURING THE RLM ARENA CLIENT: Download the RLMArena client application by clicking on "Download RLMArena" on the above menu bar.  Save it to your desktop, then double-click on its icon to launch the installer.  The installer will create a new Windows program folder under All Programs called "RLM Arena 4.2".  In this program folder will be an icon that resembles a racing tire, named "RLMArena".  Double-click this icon to launch the RLM Arena application.  You will be prompted to enter your username and password combination that you defined in step # 2 above.  NOTE: IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED YOUR E-MAIL ADVISING THAT YOUR SSRL RACE-LM ACCOUNT HAS BEEN ACTIVATED, THEN YOU WILL NEED TO WAIT BEFORE PROCEEDING.  Enter your username and password, and click on the LOGIN button.  If all goes well, the RLMArena application will display a list of race servers.  Close the RLMArena client application.

  6. UPLOADING YOUR CAR/TRUCK FILES TO THE CFM: Go back to the Car File Manager and upload your car and truck files to the Car File Manager.  Before uploading them, please check your car file names and make sure that they don't contain SPACES.  If they do, then please rename them and remove all spaces, then reselect them in your NR2003 "Driver Info" configuration for Multiplayer use.  PLEASE USE THE CORRECT SERIES FOLDERS ON THE CFM WHEN UPLOADING YOUR CAR/TRUCK FILES!  Any files uploaded to the wrong folder of the CFM will be deleted by the league administrator.  All uploads to the CFM must be approved by the league admins before they appear in the listings.  Approvals can take up to 24 hours.  Please do not repeatedly upload a car file just because you can't see it in the list immediately after it has been uploaded.  After you have clicked on the upload button, just wait for the page to refresh and then note the upload status message at the top of the page.  The status message will advise you of the upload status and whether it was successful or not.

  7. DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLING TEAMSPEAK: You'll need to get your Teamspeak client set up to connect to our Teamspeak server.  Teamspeak is the voice communication tool that the SSRL uses for driver communication during our race sessions.  Think of it as your two-way radio for the league.  If you don't have the TS2 client, you can download it by clicking HERE.  After the new window opens, then click on the Download button next to the first item in the list (Windows client) and follow the prompts to download the TS2 installer.  Save it to your desktop, then double-click on the installer icon to launch the installer.  The installer will create a desktop icon to launch Teamspeak 2.  After the installation has completed, then launch Teamspeak by double-clicking on the Teamspeak icon.

  8. CONFIGURING TEAMSPEAK: In order to use Teamspeak to communicate with other SSRL drivers, you will need to configure the client.  To get the Teamspeak server IP address, port number and password, you'll need to go back to the SSRL Forum, and go to the League Information and Announcements board and read the Board Information panel at the top of the forum page.  Close the SSRL Forum window when finished.  The TeamSpeak Server IP and password are also sent out to all registered members via e-mail on the morning of all race events.  On the Teamspeak main menu, click on the Connection menu item, then click on Connect.  On the Local Addressbook tab, right-click anywhere in the white space below below the "Servers" label, then click on "Add Server" on the pop-up menu.  Type "SSRL", then press your ENTER key on the keyboard.  On the right-hand side of the "Connect To Server" window, in the "Server Address" box enter the IP address and port number that you picked up on the News and Announcements Board info  box on the forum.  It will be the number formatted as "xx.xx.xx.xx:yyyy".  In the "Nickname" box, enter your radio callsign.  Your radio callsign should be formatted as "<car#> <firstname> <lastname>".  Example: "25 Chuck Chamblee".  Right above the Login Name field, select the button next to "anonymous".  In the Server Password field enter the Teamspeak password that you picked up on the News and Announcements Board info  box on the forum.  Right under the Server Password field, click on the check box next to "Auto-Reconnect".  In the Default Channel field enter, "Race Channel" (minus the quotes).  Finally, click on the Connect button.  You should now be connected to the race channel.  You will now need to configure your volume levels for your speaker and microphone, and select a keyboard button to use as your transmit button.  For detailed instructions and suggestions, visit the Configuring Teamspeak 2 topic on the SSRL Racer's Forum Technical Support board.  To close Teamspeak, just click on the "X" at the top-right corner of the Teamspeak window.

  9. DOWNLOADING NR2003 MODS: Go to the DOWNLOADS menu item on the main web page just under the banner, and click on Mods.  All mods that the SSRL uses are available for download on that page.  Download and install all of the mods necessary to compete in the divisions desired to run in.

  10. DOWNLOADING NR2003 TRACKS: Go to the DOWNLOADS menu item on the main web page just under the banner, and click on Tracks.  You'll need to download and install each track on the schedule that you wish to compete on.

  11. DOWNLOADING CAR FILES: On race nights, you'll need to log back into the Car Files Manager and download any new car files that have been uploaded since your last visit to the CFM.  The easiest way to do this is to login to the CFM, click on the mod that you wish to download new car files for, then click on the little DIAMOND symbol next to the word "Uploaded" on the blue header bar above the file listing.  Click on the symbol again until it points in the DOWNWARD direction.  The files will now be displayed in reverse chronological order, with the newest files being at the top.  This makes it easy toy recognize any newly-added files since your last visit.  Just look at the date stamp next to each file listed, and download only the files dated on or after the date of your last download session.

  12. DRIVER ROSTER PHOTO: Finally, we get to the Public Relations bit.  If you have a Facebook account, ADD ME as a friend.  That way, I can go to your profile pics and download a suitable mug shot of you for the driver roster page of the website.  Alternately, you can E-MAIL me your mug shot photo me your preferred photo.

ANY REGISTRATIONS NOT COMPLETED THROUGH STEP 4 WITHIN 30 DAYS OF STARTING THE PROCESS WILL BE DELETED!

THAT SHOULD DO IT!  We'll see you at the track!
